The Bastards Of Jazz tell us,
If you like, "Sit politely and listen Jazz" then they may not be your cup of tea. But If you prefer "Get out of your seat and shake it Jazz",
then maybe this is your Poison. The Bastard's goal is to get you to move by a mix of Funk, Bop, Groove and Swing. It is "Dixieland meets Tower of Power!"
The Bastards ain't no fake Jazz band! No siree, they are the real deal! They do covers, but not the way other Jazz bands do 'em. Their originals get the crowds moving.
From their funky originals like "Poke the Pope" and the soulful "El Jefe" to total re-arrangements of classics like, "Blue Monk" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy", plus favorites like
The Skatalites version of "Guns of Navaronne" movie theme, make their sets downright Bad-Ass!
The band contains;
Keith "The Beez" Beesley on Sax
Mark "Memby" Bentz on Trumpet
Z. Evan "Permeson" Davies on Trombone
Charlie "Chasbro" Beck on Guitar
Paul ("I don't need no steenkin' nickname") Moomaw on both Electric and Upright Bass
and "Infra" Ed Portnow on Drums & Percussion
Comming from musical backgrounds as diverse as the Tiny Hat Orchestra, the Dehumanizers, The Manatees, and Sychophant these Bastards sure know how to please. We hope they will please you when you pick up their lastest CD recorded "Live to 2 Track Analog" here at our very own Studio V.
