Releases - "Weird Poetry" VR2665 (1995)
|
A bold experiment in spoken word. Take some hysterically funny shit, the rantings of a madman,
lunacy, sick, dejected humour and you've got this entertaining platter. Doug's a master of spoken
word delivery and you'll appreciate this release if nothing, for its bold frank detail of how FUCKING much
it sucks to be the "sensitive guy". You know the deal, women love to be his pal but the poor sucker NEVER GETS LAID - is this you?
You know it is, and whilst the CD won't help you get some, it'll help you laugh at yourself even harder for the poor sonuvabitch you really are.
"Doug Savercool is Doug Supercool to me", Melissa Rossi - The Seattle Weekly

Doug Savercool is one of the most innnovative and interesting Spoken Word
artists to emerge from Seattle in the last few years. His CD, "Weird Poetry" (VR2665)
is a conglomeration of vignettes dealing
with the absurd, the morose and generally insane. He is accompanied by
the band Beads of Mercury on two of his most significant
performances:
"Sensitive Guy", in which he reviles being cast into the role of "sensitive guy" as
that never seems to get him the sex he so desperately wants yet it garners him the friendship he so
desperately DOESN'T want.
"Not Cool Enough for Seattle", in which he spews enough venom at well known Northwest
Music Establishments to get him the notariety he deserves (or at least sued for liable).
All in all Doug Savercool is a case study in the coveted art of robust "FUCK YOU VERY MUCH"
delivery well worth any inteligent (or unintelligent) listener's undivided attention. Henry Rollins move your fat ass over.
