Pistol Pete's Hoedown Serenade was formed in the Spring of 2001 and lasted until 2005 in various incarnations. After the demise of the Long Faces Erik 4-A sought out
like minded musicians for new project similar in nature, but dedicated to writing purely Original material.
He first asked Clayton Park, Guitarist & Fiddle player extrodinaire. He had played with Erik back in the days of the Surrealists
(1989-91). In the interim Clayton had played with bands like, the Walkabouts, Somebody's Daughter and Someone Somewhere. Both Clayton
& Erik had a long-standing Friendship and a professional dedication to Music that allowed this fledgling band to develop.
Next on board was David Hillman. He also had a longstanding Professional relationship with Erik that went back several years to bands
such as the Auditioners (which Erik recorded) and several projects which Erik had called David in on. David's dedication to guitar playing
and vocals meant that Pistol Pete's Hoedown Serenade could have 3 part harmony in the Vocal Arrangements (as both Erik and Clayton can sing
as well). David also had a tireless dedication the Blues and Acoustic Music and has been frequenting many clubs around Seattle both solo and
with the Slow Boys.
Finally the Rhythm section was rounded out by Joe Ross and Karl Wilhelm of the legendary The Green Pajamas. These two were asked at the last second
before Pistol Pete's Hoedown Serenade's only public performance at the 2001 Freemont Fair. Pistol Pete's Hoedown Serenade played its last show at 2005 NW Folklife Festival and at the Funhouse's Punklife Festival, then slowly morphed into Howlin' Houndog & The Infamous Loosers.
Pistol Pete's Hoedown Serenade recorded several tracks in 2003/4 (of which 3 ended up on Howlin' Houndog & The Infamous Loosers debut CD.
